What to do
I recently had one of my team mates ask why should I send out emails to people and what do I send...
Well I want to get basic here and then we can take bigger baby steps later...
Why have a EMAIL? Pretty dumb Question Hungh? Not really... if you are not a marketer you have no idea that having a email is like a fish trying to breath out of water...
lets dive in shall we?
Well there are the obvious reasons
- To Inform / Educate your readers...
- To Get clicks ... which leads to a sale or sales
- Talk about company / service
- It Establish you as a expert
- Builds relationship with your readers
So lets examine the actual elements of the Email itself
The From Label - Who are you make sure its actually you that is sending the email to
act like your someone who you are not when sending is against the canned spam act
( sound yummy ) Keep this the same when sending out emails to your list.
The Subject Line
Let people know what to expect. Try to stick to 40 to 50 characters. DON'T USE ALL CAPS!
It sounds like your screaming online. However you can capitalize the first word or a word that states something important. Avoid using over Punctuation!!!!!!!!!! It's annoying
Pre-Header Text
This is the 1st line of text in Email and gets pulled into the subject line... Don't Repeat your subject line...
keep in mind 51 percent of emails are being opened on tablet or phones.
Use Links
- Give your readers lots of opportunity to get to your website or offer
- Allow your readers to read long articles easily... space out the sentences into blocks of text.
- Make them social by including a link on Twitter or Faacebook
- Use call-to-action buttons instead of Buttons it will do wonderfully when you use mobile phones or tablets.

Link people to where they need to go... exactly...
- Include Logos and Images
- Engage your audience
- Think about what your audience sees
- Break up blocks of text
- Brand your logo - Email will look more professional
- Link your Images!!! (hyperlink to a site)
- Use Alt text - see if images are blocked... they will see this instead...
- (something that turns on the images)
- Balance text / images think 80/20 more text then images... this is not the rule but a guideline
Content - This is the Meat and potatoes some content you could write about

- Put your audience first
- Your Readers must desire your content
- They must desire your content
- They must invite you into their circle of trust
- The best marketers and sales people are story tellers...
PROVIDE VALUE - - - Share content even if its someone elses site and you can link over to it and showcase that info...
